about

My name is Jared Brickman. I am a music guy. This May, I anticipate graduating with a Bachelor’s in Music Business. Following my graduation, I hope to be actively participating in a creative support function in the music industry. A pianist and bassist, I have been actively playing in several music groups for many years. My most recent performing function has been with an upcoming ska band Behind Bad Luck!, with whom I recently played a sold-out show at the Knitting Factory, a premiere venue in New York City.

Other avenues in which I have been actively participating in the music industry are: Madstop Records (an on-campus volunteer record label of which I am the A&R Executive), Student Entertainment Services (an on-campus volunteer booking agency), and the Crane School of Music Latin Ensemble. I’ve also traveled far and abroad to some exciting music events, including: the 2007 College Music Journal Festival in NYC, the 2006/2007/2008 NAMM Show (where I interned for Korg – Marshall – Vox) in Anaheim, California, and I’ve also traveled all the way Monterrey, Nueva Leon, Mexico to play for the Sociedad Artística Tecnológico at the National Performing Arts Center with the Crane School of Music Latin Ensemble in the summer of 2007.

There is other stuff I enjoy, like: hiking, photography, jamming, web surfing, racquetball, reading, skiing, meeting people, travel, and yoga.

I listen to a lot of music from a huge spectrum of genres, but if you’d like to know, my absolute favorites are:
Cinematic Orchestra, Radiohead, Soulive, Deftones, The Bad Plus, Medeski Martin Wood, Frederic Chopin, Keith Jarrett, Dave Matthews Band, Rage Against the Machine, Black Star, MF Doom, The Postal Service, Behind Bad Luck!, Ludwig Von Beethoven, Holler Wild Rose!, Public Access, and Justice.
